PosMAC Steel Shell for Advanced Corrosion Resistance

Economic Efficiency: The most cost-effective option for fire Protection Tanks

Professional Installation is carried out by trusted dealers and installer in South Africa and abroad

ASIB Approved guaranteeing compliance with stringent industry standards for fire protection and safety

Versatile Application: Suitable for industrial, commercial and agricultural use

  • Corrosion Resistance: The tanks are manufactured with Zincalume steel, known for Its high corrosion resistance, ensuring long- lasting performance in any fire situation.

  • ASIB Approved: Aquadam Fire Protection Tanks have received ASIB Approval, ensuring they meet stringent industry standards for fire protection and safety.

  • Longevity: The Zincalume tank shell offers excellent anti-corrosive properties, protecting the tank from neutral salt and acid rain. This extended lifespan reduces maintenance and replacement costs, making it a cost-effective choice.
  • Economic Benefit: With an extended life of up to 50 years, Aquadam Fire Tanks using Zincalume steel offer a significant economic benefit by minimizing replacement and maintenance expenses over time.

  • Versatile Application: These fire tanks are suitable for various sectors, Including Industrial, commercial, and agricultural industries, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of customers.

  • Choice of Materials: Aquadam offers options for tanks with or without a PVC liner, allowing customers to choose the best fit for their specific requirements.

The strength of the steel tanks ensure that they won’t deteriorate over time under the harsh South African sun, as other materials do. Additional corrosion protection from a long life polymer coating on the inside of the tank walls and base prevents the growth of algae and bacteria.

PosMAC is a Magnesium, Zinc and Aluminium alloy coating that acts differently to iron when exposed to the elements. The Al, Mg and Zn elements create a protective barrier coating to the tank shell on the inside and outside. This process allows the steel to be used safely for protracted periods and includes:

❶ 3 x higher corrosion resistant properties,
Excellent anti-corrosive resistant Flat surfaces and cut edges,
High corrosive resistance against neutral salt & acid rain,
High quality and lower replacement costs.

The corrosion resistance reduces maintenance and replacement costs as time progresses making the Fire tank very cost efficient. PosMAC extends the life of the Fire Tank up to 50 years.

The Fire Tank roof is constructed using .55mm full hard Zincalume corrugated sheeting. The roof is movable, complete with a heavy-duty lockable access hatch. Furthermore, it is light and weatherproof, and designed to withstand wind speeds of up to 100 km/h. The Dome Roof can be fitted with a ventilator to prevent condensation on the inside and an internal or external ladder for easy access in and out of the tank. The roof can be sealed with a felt seal to make it bird, rodent and dust proof.

The Fire Tank foundations can vary depending on the size, the application and the design requirements of the tank. A  reinforced concrete ring beam is required to anchor the tank, especially for larger tanks and for installations in extreme windy conditions. We can give you a detailed drawing and site instruction if you would like to construct the ring beam yourself.

The bolted nature of the tanks makes building very quick when compared to welded or concrete structures. It also allows the existing tanks to be unbolted and moved on to new locations when needed, significantly increasing asset value. Engineered designs will accommodate secure tank storage for local environmental conditions, such as high wind speeds, snow or seismic loads. The bolted tank and silo system allows for structural designs to be used in various configurations, including water storage reservoirs, water standpipes and elevated water distribution tanks.

The highest corrosion resistant alloy plated steel. The Fire Protection Tank is manufactured with PosMAC steel plated sheets

with extraordinary corrosion resistance. You can be sure that the Fire tank is a wise investment, designed according to the

latest recognized code of practice to last in any situation.
